Women’s Work During Prohibition

Wednesday, November 14, 2018

Nearly 85 years ago, on December 5, 1933, the 21st Amendment to the Constitution was passed and ratified, which ended national Prohibition. Let’s explore women’s work and attitudes during these 13 “dry” years. This talk, by Dr. Alison Staudinger, an Associate Professor at UW-Green Bay, will focus on the stories of real Wisconsin women and how the value of work in the home changed during Prohibition and how it is valued today.
